I had a really unpleasant experience with one of the counselors. I was scheduled to go in on a Wednesday to start my program, but rescheduled for Thursday because it was my son's first birthday and I wanted to set that day aside for him because it was special to the whole family.

When I told the counselor about the date change and why I was changing it... she said, "Sure, you just HAVE to get in that last piece of cake before you come in, don't you?"

I was appalled!! I've never been talked to like that before, and it just made me feel even worse about myself. It had nothing to do with the cake, but she made it seem like it did.

Needless to say, I canceled my appointment completely.

I agree with these reviews and feel it is a scam that our Jenny Craig reps are not reminding us of our renewal date. I lost my 30% discount because they never bothered to remind me of the renewal date. I told the director that it was not my job it was their's to notify me. It seems my consultant wrote a note that she spoke to me on 3/19/09 but that never happened I was there on the 13th and she never said a thing.

I wrote to the corporate office and complained. I am a disabled person and rely on the food to assist me. NOTHING I said mattered to the director of the centre so I walked out certain another company would love my business.

She thought I would pay the $99 and start as a beginner without any discount after 4 yrs. of being a loyal customer.... I DON'T THINK SO.

So ladies walk away from this place and don't waste your energy on them because they do not care!

I work at one of the Jenny Craig centers. I will say that it is all about the money.

I wanted to work at JC to learn more about healthy weightloss because i had lost about 30 pounds on my own and I believed that the environment would be good for me as well as I could be a help to others who've struggled with weight for a long time. Not the case at all. JC requires so much from the consultants (who only make $7.25 per hour+ a ridiculously small commission).

Consultants are often times chastised for going off of the scripted conversation that is the required dialogue. Thus the disconnect between client and consultant. The idea of having a consultant to help educate the clients about food and physical activity is a great one. However JC is not delivering. Consultants are encouraged to sell, consistently call clients and sell some more.

Consultant turnover is very high due to the misleading salary range that is offered during the hiring process. I would not recommend anyone to join the program. I would discourage anyone who would like to work for the company from doing so. There are hidden fees and payments when joining the program and it ends up being way too expensive.

Jenny Craig is a company that does not care about it's employees or clients. Jenny Craig is all about money.
